& Farm Tour in North Kerala
Day 1,You would be met on arrival at the
Airport/Railway Station and transferred to a homestay
about 2hrs drive . A quiet retreat .You will meet your
hosts, warm and personable people who will instantly
make you feel at home. You could also start the day with
some short walk into the surrounding farm areas near the
homestay. Overnight at the homestay.
Day 2, Later on the host will take you on a
walking tour of the Illam (House) and enlighten you on
the history of the house and the people who lived here
.Find more about the cultural heritage of this illam,
and various art forms prevalent during those days at
this heritage home. After lunch you will go out into
this 20 acre farmland on your own and tour surrounding
the illam .
Day 3,Today you will go through a guided trip
with one of the family member of the homestay to
continue with the tour of the Illam. Later we would see
some of the festivals and art & tradition that were
organized in the past and probably continuing today.
Some art form and rituals would also be displayed Time
to sit back and relax.
Day 4,You will take a tour of the farm area that
has a paddy field, fruit trees and vegetable growing in
their farm. You could participate and lend a hand in
their everyday field activity and know more about their
farming practices prevalent in this part of Kerala. The
4- nights give you insight into the life in a farmhouse
as you share a part of the daily life with the host.
With a range of activities, it provides a comfortable
and peaceful base from which to explore this wonderful
part of KERALA.
Day 5, After breakfast check out from the
beautiful Homestay and transfer to Palghat or Calicut.
You can do some last minute shopping in the city. Later
board the train or plane filled with unforgettable
memories that will last a lifetime!

The Timeless Traveller on Rice Farm Tour in North
Kerala
Day 1,You would be met on arrival at the
Airport/Railway Station and transferred to this
farmhouse. A quiet retreat close to Palghat .You will
meet your host, warm and personable person, who will
instantly make you feel at home. Later on the host over
lunch will elucidate on the farm practice in this paddy
field and the time of sowing seeds and harvesting.
Explore the place and the surroundings. Return in the
evening for a simple vegetarian dinner.
Day 2, Today after a visit to the kitchen for a
good tea , you leave with the host to the fields or if
you are late probably catch up with him in the paddy
field where he would have already started his farm work.
Return to the home for Lunch for some cuisine
preparation with organic farm fresh produce and then for
some rest at the home stay. Later in the evening the
host will take you to his ancestral home which is a
Naluketu with a courtyard in the center.
Day 3, Today you have some outdoor trip where you
will visit the local community and get to know their
lifestyle and daily work very common in this part of the
world. The evenings are spent in the home itself with
members of the family giving you more detail about the
farm and lifestyle here.
Day 4, After a memorable stay at this homestay
you leave for Neliyampathy a forest range 75 km from
Palghat. The travel uphill is really exhilarating with
many hairpin bends and a exciting stop at Pothundy dam
for a good view of the forest surrounding. You reach
Neliyampathy to check into a homestay.
Day 5, You Leave Neliyampathy to reach Palghat in
the evening. Later on transfer to train station.
